Lynn Alishio Salter

I taught school in West Seattle for 30 years. After my husband and I both retired we had a house built in Enumclaw to be closer to our children and grandchildren. Our daughter Teri who is 43, works for a major bio-tech company and has 2 daughters. Our son Todd, 40, is a Special Agent with the Federal Government. He has a son and daughter. This is the first time in our lives we haven't lived in West Seattle. Must say we miss it.

I graduated from Central Washington University with degrees in Early Child Education and Elementary Education. I did my post graduate work at the University of Washington. I spent most of my teaching career at schools in West Seattle, with the last 26 years at Arbor Heights Elementary, where I also served as Principal Designee. I did sub early in my career at both Madison and West Seattle. It was strange to see teachers there who had taught me. They didn't seem as old as I thought they were. I will always remember the April 1965 earthquake going to Alki to watch for the tidal wave. Crazy kids!
